BIOGRAPHY

Science of Disorder is Swiss metal band formed in 2011 from the ashes of trash metal band Soulless. The band’s music is a mix between old school metal and heavy Swedish sound.

In 2012, SoD released their debut album Heart, Blood and Tears… featuring Kevin Talley as session drummer and mastered by Tue Madsen in Norway. The same year, the band opened for Megadeth at Les Docks (Lausanne) and for Entombed during a 5-days tour in France and Switzerland. Unfortunately, the sudden death of lead singer Chris shorty after the album’s release forced SoD to go in indefinite hiatus the arrival of new vocalist Jérôme in 2017. 

The band released their second album Private Hell in May 2018. Recorded, mixed and mastered by DROP in Switzerland, the album is released under the labels Black Market Music and Fastball Music. To support the release, SoD opened for Septicflesh during their Codex Tour in Eastern Europe and for Bullet For My Valentine at PTR in Geneva. The band also headlined a 2-weeks tour in Russia.

Science of Disorder will release it’s new album Apoptose on September 16, 2022, this time produced by Kris Norris (USA) and Drop (Switzerland). Heavy, dark, tortured, the new release promises to take the listener back to the roots of old school Scandinavian metal.

Apoptosis, from Ancient Greek apóptōsis literarily meaning “falling off”, is a form of programmed cell death that occurs in multicellular organisms. Because apoptosis cannot stop once it has begun, it is a highly regulated process that confers advantages during an organism’s life cycle. Nevertheless, defective apoptotic processes have been implicated in a wide variety of diseases: excessive apoptosis causes atrophy, whereas an insufficient amount results in uncontrolled cell proliferation, such as cancer… Heavy and dark, Science of Disorder’s new album Apoptose is more personal than ever, leading the listener through paths of insurmountable suffering before finding light and redemption.
