Dirty Sound Magnet

After over 300 shows all over Europe, four studio albums and a live album since 2012, the Swiss vintage psych-rock power trio has established a lifestyle that revolves around music. Is the overwhelming energy, passion and dedication of the three inseparable friends to music that breathes life into Dirty Sound Magnet. The band has been described as a cross between King Gizzard, Led Zeppelin, Frank Zappa, The Doors, Pink Floyd and Tame Impala but they are much, much more than that. Their desire to remain authentic and true to their musical ideal is felt instantly by anyone attending one of their live shows. Surreal arrangements and almost structureless song structures – all delivered with intensity, charismatic showmanship, not to mention a healthily rebellious rock & roll attitude.

In 2017, DSM released the album Western Lies, first album as a trio, with Berlin-based label Noisolution. 2018 saw the band release the acclaimed single Social Media Boy with Swiss label Black Market Music, and two years later, their epic full album Transgenic in 2019 on Swiss label Hummus Records. Between 2017 and 2020 the band toured relentlessly all over Europe. Unfortunately Covid-19 turned the world upside down and Dirty Sound Magnet had to cancel the remaining shows of the tour. This hiatus from touring allowed the band to produce a live session album called Live Alert, released in November 2020.

During these difficult times away from stage, Dirty Sound Magnet also recorded an ambitious studio album named DSM-III that was released in March 2022 with Hummus Records. The band envisioned a very natural and authentic sound and therefore kept the production simple with just a few microphones and a vintage mixing desk. In the end, it turns out that the trio has never sounded more powerful and organic.
